Montana just happens to be my husbands boss as well as one of his good friends. His stunning girlfriend Madina, from Kazakhstan, is why I asked if they would be interested in posing for me at this new incredible venue that I had just found out about before they opened to the public. I fell in love with the venue right away and had to set up a wedding before real weddings were booked bc I couldn’t wait much longer to shoot at The Wildflower 301. So I planned and organized a team for my very first styled shoot.

These photos were captured during the end of winter and yet the venue & its gardens still blew me away.

Montana and Madina blew me away too. Both of them had never modeled before and rarely have their photos taken but they followed my direction so well and its also apparent how fond they are of each other. I have high hopes they’ll have me for their real wedding one day.

I was also very nervous as this was only my second time shooting film! The film images that came from this shoot are easily by far some of my favorite images I’ve ever captured. Mixed in with my digital, can you tell which is film and which is not? (I can but my eyes are trained). What I love about mixing film images with digital is that I can always match my digital to the film which enhances my digital images by ….100%!!

Choosing and putting together a tablescape was also a very new and interesting challenge for me, but I have to say, like with being a newb shooting film, I impressed myself with the table design. Thank you Hobby Lobby, Walmart (Pioneer Woman) and local thrift stores. My mother in law’s china is also included in this shoot which is so so special. She passed away last summer unfortunately so I’m glad she got to be part of this in a little, yet big way. How would this tablescape have come together with out those beautiful floral plates and tea cups?
